Moog Aircraft Group’s Customer Service Fab Cell is looking for a
2nd Shift Tool & Cutter Grinder…
Under the direction of the Tool Room Supervisor, perform precision grinding to construct, alter – or repair a wide variety of cutting tools, gauges, fixtures, fixture parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies.
Cutting tools vary widely to include most types of turning, facing, recessing, forming, radius tools, special multiple diameter end mills, reamers, drills, boring tools, plain and special form milling cutters of various types. Gauges include various types of depth, concentricity, alignment, and other configuration acceptance gauges. Fixture grinding includes various sizes and shapes of details and complete assemblies held to precision size and inter-relationship.
Work requires the use of standard grinding machines with various set-ups and configurations of grinding wheels to produce desired results. Special emphasis places upon size, finish, dimensional relationships and general geometry of part produced. Knowledge is desirable for proper selection of grinding wheels and cutting characteristics of various metals such as stainless steels, beryllium, copper, aluminum alloys, brass, high speed and various grades of special alloy wheels. Work closely with production or other Tool Room personnel.
Knowledge of various clearance and relief angles is essential. Use of all precision measuring equipment such as optical comparator, micrometers, verniers, Shadowgraph, sine plate and gauge blocks is required. Must be capable of accurately interpreting drawings or sketches. Tool drawings generally available. Limited work performed to part print of verbal instructions.
To qualify for this opportunity, you must have a High School Diploma plus over three years’ experience in a wide variety of precision grinding.
