We are searching for a dynamic Test Engineer to join the MariPro team in Goleta, CA.

Job Summary:

The Test Engineer will be responsible for planning and executing the verification and characterization of our communication products under development. This includes designing formal test procedures and test plans from internal product design documentation as well as from external certification requirements; assisting in the investigation and root cause analysis of functional and performance failures that are discovered during hardware, software, and integration testing; transitioning products from design to certification, as well as from design through production; converting data collected during testing into consumable status and formal reports; and developing test automation software to accomplish testing in a repeatable and dependable fashion.

The Test Engineer will will report to the Manager of Electrical Engineering and will be based out of Goleta, CA.

Essential Functions:

*

Systems Analysis: Supports analysis of proposed projects to determine best architectural approach. Supports evaluation of how to leverage existing test approaches to develop cost-effective solutions.

*

Proposal Development: Works with Business Development and Project Engineering to ensure test proposals are complete and accurate.

*

Project Estimation: Based on agreed to product proposals, creates Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for Test and Test Development activities. Develops basis of estimate and uses WBS to capture project scope and estimated cost.

Project Schedule: Works with functional and project management to develop project schedules.

*

Test Requirements Development: Works with design and systems engineering to develop test requirements that meet product and/or project goals. Ensures that test requirements do not compromise target delivery dates.

*

Test Development Plan: Based on test requirements, interfaces and product designs, develops and documents test plans that will meet project testing goals quickly and efficiently. Presents test plans for review by peers and management.

Test Development: Develops test procedures, equipment and test code to support the testing of systems, sub-assemblies and printed circuit assemblies. Supports product development especially as it relates to product test and design for test. Ensures all development tasks are documented per L3 processes.

Test Implementation and Maintenance: Implements and maintains test procedures, equipment and test code to realize timely and efficient test execution.

*

Project Execution/Reviews: Meets with project teams on an on-going basis to discuss project progress, obstacles and solutions. Identifies problems discovered and recommends and or implements solutions. Meets project milestone deadlines on or before scheduled completion dates.

*

Process Improvement: Continuously monitors test processes and yields to drive process development and improvement. Implements metrics and tracking systems to support process and yield monitoring and improvement.

As an AS9100/ISO Certified Company, it is important to follow internal process to ensure conformance to established policies/procedures and support our quality system by assisting in the development of AS9100/ISO compliant documentation.

Responsible for other duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities:

*

May perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

* B.S. degree in a related discipline or equivalent training/experience.

* 3 years of related experience in a complex technical function, including optics experience.

* Background in test development.

* Some knowledge and first-hand experience in circuit design and experience with PCB layout using Altium tools.

* Demonstrates a clear understanding of factory test systems development, including design and documentation standards.

* Ability to address real time production issues. May need technical assistance.

* Good knowledge and experience with test software development using LabView (or similar).

* Proven experience flowing board level Design-For-Test requirements to design engineering required.

* Knowledge of use and feedback improvements to DFT checklists.

* Strong mechanical, mathematical, and geo-spatial comprehension skills required.

Certificates and Licenses Required:

* Active DoD Security Clearance required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Ability to speak, read and write the English language.

* Strong analytic and communication skills; ability to coach, train, motivate and manage technical personnel.

* Requires the ability to interpret and communicate system designs and specifications to requisite personnel. Requires sound knowledge of engineering theory, design criteria and complex activities.

* Ability to write a concise report of findings.

* Ability to manage complex activities; ability to meet program objectives within contract cost and schedule requirements.

* Effective human relation skills are essential; and ability to interact with customers.

* Ability to motivate others; sound effective listening skills; pays attention to details; ability to work under pressure; and ability to meet deadlines.

Physical Demands:

* Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

* Employee regularly sits while using upper body movements including arms, hands and fingers operating computer equipment and other office equipment.

* Employee occasionally reaches with hands and arms in moving tools equipment and/or products as needed

* Other Work Conditions and Requirements

* Employee works in a quiet to moderately noisy environment

* Travel may be required for several days on short notice via auto/air/rail.

* Testing aboard ship may be required from time to time.

Network Analysis:

* Directly provides support, motivation and training to technical personnel

* Interacts with administrative personnel and other engineers.

* Interacts with existing and prospective customers.

This position is contingent upon MariPro receiving an award for a Undersea Cable program (the “Program”), which is currently in source selection review. MariPro anticipates that an award decision will be made in Q1 2019. MariPro plans to conduct interviews and make a contingent offer under this requisition prior to award and then proceed with onboarding of the successful candidate upon award to MariPro for the Program. In the event MariPro does not receive an award for the Program, this requisition will be cancelled and any contingent offers issued thereunder will be withdrawn.
