Technician Metallugical Lab

Position Description

This position is responsible for preparing (grinding, polishing, and etching) and examining metallographic samples and documenting micro structural features.
Position Requirements

• Working knowledge of metallography and the ability to perform metallographic functions including all equipment associated with metallography.
• Accurately prepare samples for testing and ensure samples are properly tested and evaluated in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
• Able to operate the following equipment: Polishing table, Tensile tester, Hardness tester, oven, and microscope.
• Maintains equipment and work areas as assigned.
• Clearly communicate technical information or results to Quality Control Team.
• Execute priorities of work requests or tasks determined by supervisors.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.
• Learns best practices from others.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with work group.
