GATE Europe is looking for a Technical Publications Author in Aerospace Industry.
Job Summary – Technical Publications Author
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience (Aerospace, Defence, Rail, Energy, Nuclear)
Experience in producing technical documentation using S1000D and Simplified Technical English
Good understanding of engineering data in a variety of formats from engineering drawings to design reports including:
· Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner
· Adequate competency using different software packages for planning/reporting purposes
· A pro‐active thinker that can provide potential solutions
· Ability to track production of tasks from conception to completion
· Drive and enthusiasm to achieve customer quality criteria
· Ability to work to deadlines and adhere to schedules
· Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
· Current SC Clearance an advantage
· Experience working on Data Modules
· Experience with S1000D (preferably version 4.1)
· Experience with RMM / AMM, SRM, CMM, IPC
· Experience in writing to Simplified Technical English (STE)
· Familiar with ICN structure

· Liaising with the customers engineering team based in Switzerland

· Ability work with a minimum of supervision
· Valid Driving License
· The number of different manuals you have
worked with (especially you NDT experience) but also SRM, FIM, WDM
etc.
· S1000D and STE experience
· Any experience of developing DMRLs ? Arbortext Epic or XML editor
experience
· Any experience of using CATIA, SolidWorks, 3D
viewers etc
Required Qualifications (of which the knowledge of S2000M and compiling IPL will be part of the internal training):
• Good working knowledge of compiling Illustrated Parts Catalogs within the aircraft industry.
• Sound knowledge of the S2000M specifications.
• Good understanding of engineering drawing systems and general aircraft related documentation.
• Good aircraft/engineering background.
• Basic knowledge of English
• Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel) and Notepad
• Secondary Education - MBO Mechanical Engineering – OR – in lieu of degree, 2 years of aerospace manufacturing experience.
Start : May / June. Long term contracts. excellent rates.
