Systems Engineering Manager, Control System Design

This position reports to the Director within the MS&C Environmental Control Systems (ECS) organization. The selected individual will manage a team of control systems engineers and control designers as well as the controls definition and system/software integration process to support the successful implementation and certification of ECS systems across the organization. The role includes interfacing within and across multiple Honeywell sites.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

* Manage a group of 10-15 control system engineers and control designers.

* Provide mentorship of team and develop skills across organization. Execute Management and Technical Resource Reviews (MRR/TRR) and Honeywell Performance and Development activities.

* Provide oversight & management operating system for controls requirements development and flow down

* Provide definition and management oversight of the controls development process (closed loop control, logic design, BIT, etc.) including integration and optimization with control systems integration, dynamic analysis and software teams

* Drive analysis of Controls requirements (both hardware and software), defining specific tasks and actions necessary to de-risk programs and the controls development schedule for ECS programs

* Support Software Change Board process to ensure proper requirements flow down and implications
of software changes are assessed prior to implementation

* Implement and oversee Controls-related KPIs and manage execution metrics like HMR
milestones, KPI summary, and requirements metrics, etc. for Monthly Operating
Reviews (MORs).

* Manage and define Handoff gaps between various contributors (Customer / MSEA / ECCOE /
ETS) and management/escalation of blocking points Ensures Integrity of the
Requirements flow down and quality of cross functional handoffs

* Risk Management Leader - owns the identification, assessment and mitigation of the
risks facing Controls development

* Identifies the interdependencies between work packages and manages routebook type of
management to satisfy those interdependencies

* Provide Controls Maturity path definition and tracking

MUST HAVE:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical,Aerospace or Electrical Engineering

· Minimum 10 years of Systems/Project Management experience

· Minimum 5 years of Mechanical Systems Control Integration experience

WE VALUE

· Masters’ Degree preferred

· Controls and Avionics background preferred

· Software development experience and Process competency preferred

· Airframe Integration Experience - Mechanical Systems and associated Controls a plus

· Effective Communication Skills through all levels of the organization

· Experience in managing complex programs with diverse contributing sites and suppliers

· Ability to work flexible hours to align schedule with people in different time zones
