System Security Engineer Aerospace (Cybersecurity)

What will be your role within the Engineering team?

Working out of the Enfield (NS) facility and reporting to the Engineering Manager your day-to-day activities will include the following roles and responsibilities:

* The Successful candidate will perform security analysis of operational and development environments, threats, vulnerabilities and interfaces to define and assess compliance with accepted government standards;
*
Develop and update security threat risk assessment for aerospace platforms, associated enabling systems supply chains;

*
Perform mission and airworthiness assurance analysis to determine system security requirements and security controls and safeguards in accordance with government security policies and standards;

*
Support the Airworthiness Security certification process;

*
Support the security and accreditation process of avionics subsystems requiring connectivity to national systems;

*
Develop and implement a comprehensive security and cyber threat Detection Response Prediction Prevention process;

*
Monitor recent security and cyber threats, recommend courses of action and provide proactive solution to mitigate risks;

*
Analyse existing avionics subsystems, propose, design, develop and implement improved security controls and safeguards in accordance with government security policies and standards;

*
Support technical reviews of proposed changes to all avionics subsystems and provide security design recommendations;

*
Perform security audits at various stakeholders’ locations;

*
Develop project plans and proposals. Establish timeline, schedule, cash flow, stages of the project. Prepare status reports;

*
Study product design, customer requirements, and performance standards. Generate compliance and conduct verification and validation on the product or services generated;

*
Review and manage subcontractor work. Oversee and coordinate all technical aspect of the project.

Qualifications

What are the essential qualifications
and experience necessary for the role?

*

Bachelor’s
degree in Science, Engineering, or Math discipline from an accredited
university;

*
Minimum of
three (3) years’ experience in the design, implementation and set to work of
networked security solutions to meet Government of Canada (GC) ITSG-33 security
controls for classified (Secret or Top Secret) projects and / or solutions;

*
Minimum of
five (5) years’ experience following security technologies and techniques in
security solutions: network security monitoring, network intrusion detection,
operating system hardening, high-assurance guard, virtualization, identity
management, firewalls, encryption, anti-virus, authentication, log management,
secure software development lifecycle;

*
Minimum of
two (2) years’ experience in: cybersecurity requirements development, security
and cyber threat analysis, security systems engineering, cyber systems
architecture development or cybersecurity policy development;

*
Certification:
CISSP, CCSP, CISM or equivalent;

*
Experienced
in the use of cybersecurity frameworks such as: NIST, COBIT, ISO 27002

Operational Requirements

*
Must be
eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations
(ITAR);

*
Must be
eligible to meet the requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP);

*
Must be
eligible to meet the requirements for Canadian government security clearance.
