Description:Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is a recognized leader in the design, development, manufacture, and sustainment of advanced combat weapon systems, including precision engagement ground and air-launched tactical missiles, defense systems, and situational awareness systems for the U.S. and allied militaries.

System Safety Engineer primary job duty will be the execution of System Safety Analyses to support Safety Hazard Assessments. Additional job duties may include:
- Analyze and recommend safety criteria in system design, equipment and procedures to control or eliminate hazards
- Support the performance of hazard analyses, bent pin analysis, software system safety assessment, hazardous material management planning and execution
- Interface with engineering design teams to influence the hardware/software/firmware development process and design for safety compliance
- Support customer and test/operational range requirements
- Support design and test readiness reviews, and customer briefings
- Flow down System Safety requirements to suppliers and verify design implementation
- Develop Hazardous Materials Management Plan (HMMP)
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in an engineering discipline
Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Experience with MS Office applications including a high level of proficiency with Excel
Ability to work within a team
Strong interpersonal communication, planning and writing skills
Ability to adapt to up-tempo work environment, motivated and result oriented
Effective analytical problem solving skills, the ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy, be able to learn and work with System Safety specific software tools
Desired Skills:
Candidate should be a self-starter capable of performing assigned tasks with little direction.
Ability to make formal presentations to large groups and be able to interact well in a team atmosphere with engineers, subcontractors, program managers and customers
Experience working DoD MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program for weapon systems.
