About The Job

This job is a member of the Plant Maintenance Team within the Integrated Operations Division. This position will be responsible for Plant Maintenance operations in multiple stations where maintenance work is conducted in-house or contracted to a vendor. This job also works as a liaison between the Company, the contract vendor and partners with Technical Operations maintenance management to ensure facilities related work is maintained per Company standards and the Facilities Maintenance Manual.

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

* Administers and coordinates the activities of their assigned work group(s) in support of policies, goals and objectives established by the GSE station, Manager, Senior Manager, Director or Managing Director

* Ensures continuing safety, compliance, dependability and reliability in their area of responsibility

* Ensures harmonious working relationship with union workforce and understanding / application of union contractual language

* Monitors inspections and maintenance programs and recommends revisions as required, to provide for continued improvement of mechanical performance and reliability of ground equipment

* Maintains a consistent liaison between other American Airlines Management, Internal customers, Union representatives and vendors

* Performs review and approval of vendor invoices and makes recommendations and challenges as required.

* Materials/Parts support:

* Assists in GSE parts lookup, sourcing options, parts quality review and inspection, component warranty coordination.

* Reorders and stocks bulk hardware, tire and wheel, oil and lubricants local stock in support of fleet service/maintenance

* Daily review of assets out of service wait parts. Coordinates options with Materials to minimize lead times/asset down time

* Issues technical documents to ensure the integrity of the Company ground equipment

* Assists in preparing ground equipment capital and expense budgets for all stations

* Establishes and monitors operating procedures for ground equipment to be used by operators which will create a harmonious operation between Maintenance Operations and equipment users

* Assists in establishing part allocations and inventory control to support maintenance of Company ground equipment

* Maintains an active participation in Company strategy groups in developing Company ground equipment

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

* ​High School diploma or GED equivalency

* 4 years’ experience managing, supervising and /or directing workgroups preferably in a union environment

* Automotive, GSE or Heavy equipment operations experience in production along with parts procurement as a manager, supervisor or lead mechanic

* Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in related field

* Budgetary experience

* Ability to understand and apply all standards, policies and procedures for Company ground equipment

* Must be able to select, train, guide, and motivate employees

* Capability to handle multiple projects concurrently

* Working knowledge of PC’s and proficiency of software applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and Fleet Focus.

* Thorough knowledge of all aspects of operation

* Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities at the same time
