Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Grand Sky UAS Business Park in Emerado, ND, minutes from downtown Grand Forks.
The selected candidate will develop and implement systems engineering rigor to the Northrop Grumman Grand Sky Mission Engineering facility.
Essential Functions:
*
Responsible for coordination and collaboration with Grand Sky Mission Engineering team on engineering projects in support of the Mission Engineering vision.
*
Requires systems thinking and working knowledge of the full development life-cycle processes that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
*
Execute Model Based Systems Engineering methods and create SysML/UML artifacts
*
Exhibit strong leadership characteristics in coordinating with multiple teams and managing tasks.
*
Provide requirements and support for verification plans as part of Mission Engineering capabilities development.
*
Lead Systems Engineering design team with developing requirements, use cases and associated UML artifacts for new capabilities.
*
Author design descriptions and algorithms for software processing defined in Systems Engineering UML artifacts.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must be comfortable in a lab environment and be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
*
Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and at least 9 years of engineering experience OR at least 7 years with Masters Degree in STEM discipline.
*
Experience with requirements development and requirements management.
*
Active Secret DoD Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
*
A Masters Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university
*
Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
*
Knowledge and understanding of Agile Systems Engineering and Agile Software development
*
Experience in Global Hawk Operations and/or Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS)/Processing Exploitation Dissemination (PED).
