Overview

Spirit Airlines is seeking a Sr Manager of Corporate Safety and Environmental Compliance. This role coordinates the safety and environmental compliance policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with federal regulations and standards. Also will serve as the primary point of contact with the environmental protection agency to ensure time-lines and commitments are adhered to effectively, efficiently and on-time between Spirit management and the Regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

* Provide over site of Company safety programs, processes, and procedures related to ground safety, occupational health, Hazardous materials and environmental protection policies and regulations.
* Partners with other departments, vendors, regulatory agencies, and other organizations to establish and support processes that result in the continuous improvement of safety programs, processes, and procedures related to ground safety, occupational health, Hazardous materials and environmental protection policies and regulations.
* Serves as A subject matter expert on the company’s programs, processes, and procedures related to ground safety, occupational health, Hazardous materials and environmental protection policies and regulations.
* Primary point of contact with the environmental protection agency.
* Performs data analysis, root cause analysis, and assists in identifying adverse events or trends in ground safety, occupational health, Hazardous materials and environmental protection.
* Review and investigate potential ground safety, occupational health, Hazardous materials and environmental protection hazards as they are identified by Safety Program data.
* Investigate incidents and reports and provide investigation materials and findings to review committees and appropriate management when necessary with documented corrective actions when developed.
* Maintains SMS manual currency in relation to governmental policies and regulations related to ground safety, occupational health, Hazardous materials and environmental protection.
* Provides over site of the administration and training for all departments related to the Safety Data System. (currently Q-Pulse)
* Manages the new airport process related to governmental policies and regulations related to ground safety, occupational health, Hazardous materials and environmental protection.
* Contributes to internal newsletters, communicating significant trends to stakeholders.
* Present ground safety, occupational health, Hazardous materials and environmental protection information to various internal and external groups such as senior management, industry, and governmental agencies.
* May perform other responsibilities as assigned based on the needs of the operation.

Qualifications

* Four-year college degree, preferably in Aviation, Occupational Safety, or related field.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Aviation required.
* Work experience, preferably in 14CFR Part 121 air carrier operations; ground operations, quality, other operations, safety - or a combination thereof.
* Basic computer programming and statistical analysis experience preferred.
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs, including database and spreadsheet programs.
* Proficient verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
* Ability to travel up to 50%.
