SUMMARY:

The Quality Engineer provides support on assigned program(s) and/or areas to ensure that the product is designed, procured, and built in accordance with customer and division quality requirements. The Quality Engineer is also responsible for providing support for new systems development, implementation, procedures, and any related quality activity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assist in the implementation of the quality policies and procedures of the company

* Help achieve the goals and objectives of the quality department

* Participate in the review of design, manufacturing, purchasing, and test documentation to ensure division and customer quality requirements are implemented on assigned products

* Prepare quality plans

* Develop inspection and test procedures and work instructions

* Provide leadership, guidance, and technical support to the Quality department

* Provide technical support to suppliers, engineering, and the customer service department as needed

* Assist in root cause identification and corrective action implementation

* Perform quality trend analysis and prepare reports

* Based on quality trend analysis, identify opportunities for defect-reduction and provide technical support as required.

* Perform internal audits

* Assist in the preparation of proposals in support of contracts

* Adhere to all AAR Composites Safety Procedures and Safety Accountabilities (Ref. SP-011)

* Other duties as assigned

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform advanced statistical process control as needed

* Interface with the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), customers, and suppliers on quality engineering issues

* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

*

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline or five years of experience as a Quality Engineer.

* ASQ Certified Quality Engineer is preferred.

* Use inspection gauges and test equipment.

*

Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS 9100 Quality Systems; AS9102 First Article Inspection Conformities.

*

Experience with NADCAP audits

*

Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and blueprint reading.

*

Internal Auditing experience desired.

*

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access.

*

CMM and FARO Arm experience is a plus.
