Role Overview
This position is for a seasoned Software Engineering professional, working independently.Conducts moderately complex tests and debugs control and diagnostic systems.Undertakes multidisciplinary research, and works on system capabilities analysis to determine end user needs.

Primary Responsibilities

* Conducts and coordinates moderately complex tests for control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
* Conducts multidisciplinary research in assisting equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software to develop software engineering activities.
* Analyzes system capabilities and determines end user needs to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition to ensure current and future needs of the business are met.
* Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
* Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
* Determines end user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition.
* Ensures hardware and software standards are met.
* Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and use.
* May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
* May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.
* Includes control modeling (model based design).puter design and development, instrumentation, radio communications, semiconductor devices, solid state devices, and television systems.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

* This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
* Proficient with C programming language, and embedded systems in a lab environment.
* Experience with Microprocessors, Microcontrollers, and/or DSPs
* Excellent written and verbal skills
* Good computer skills with ability to learn new programs/software
* Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints
* Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task amidst rapid change

Preferred Qualifications:

* 4+ years experience in software development
* Experience working within DO-178B/C certification program(s), including Stages of Involvement (SOI) Audits under EASA or FAA
* Model Based Development, using SysML, Simulink or SCADE
* Experience with the following industry guidance: DO-330, DO-331, DO-254, ARP4754A
* Knowledge and use of ADA, Assembly, Perl, C#
* Software Verification including, test procedure development, robustness testing and debug
* Experience with software configuration management and problem reporting tools
