Job Summary

Establish and maintain all aspects of configuration management activities relative to identification, control, accounting, and auditing for systems and/or equipment in accordance with internal guidelines and contract requirements.

Job Responsibilities

* Identifies requirements and coordinates the development and implementation of computer based configuration, data management and electronic data support.

* Reviews and makes recommendation on contractor engineering data.

* Participates in design reviews, audits and scheduling.

* Monitors contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure that the applications of standards and requirement for statement of work is properly implemented.

* Ensures that the customer requirements are implemented and met, and reviews change accounting activity to ensure coordination among groups. Serves as the external spokesperson for the compliance with configuration management policies.

* Organizes or creates change package for classification concurrence inspection by the customer.

* Coordinate changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.

* May review and analyze released engineering change data and collect metrics.

* Manages the engineering document change process by facilitating approval documentation and participation in or chairing the change control board.

* Little supervision on day to day work, general instructions on new assignments. Participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.

* Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

* Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to established precedents and policies. Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

* Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices. A seasoned, experience professional with a full understanding of area of specialization. Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience
