The Automation Test Engineer is responsible for the development, test, release, and integration efforts of test automation software associated activities. Has specific technical project or product responsibility.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Test Automation of the development testing at board level and at the unit level including qualification testing.

* Participate in development test and integration activities. Participate in technical coordination meetings and design reviews.
* Create test plans, cases and procedures to validate hardware and software functionality.
* Write programs for Network Emulators including Spirent Test Center/Modules for network performance and validation testing.
* Define, develop and implement automated test software for product/test equipment using for example C++, Python, Bash
* Designs, debug and maintain automation SW used in the development and qualification testing of hardware for In Flight Entertainment systems.
* Verify automation SW performs required functions, analyze test results, maintain databases for test cases and test results, and maintain test tools.
* Work closely with Hardware, Software, Mechanical and Test engineers to ensure product quality and delivery schedules are met.
* Keep management current on development, integration and test status.
* Plan work assignments within the established test plans.
* Ensure all testing is properly documented, submitted and reviewed.
* Responsible for the integration and maintenance of qualification test rack configuration

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILL REQUIREMENTS

* Excellent writing and strong communication skills with proactive attitude.
* Ability to effectively communicate in English, in person and on the phone.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* 0-3 years’ of related software QA, Software Test or Software Development Test role, with advanced hands-on experience of Linux OS, Windows a plus.
* 0-3 years of developing test plans and executing them
* 0-3 years of experience in developing automated tests
* 0-3 years working in an Agile type environment such as Agile Scrum and Kanban
* Experience with scripting languages such as Python
* Ability to review code in C and/or C++ would be a plus. Any programing in C or C++ would be a definite plus!
* Knowledgeable with systems administrator capabilities and command language for Linux.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

* Ability to travel to domestic or international locations as required, up to 10% of the time.
