Position Overview:

The Senior Technical Writer will be primarily accountable for analysis of customer requirements and accomplishing the development of assigned sections of L3 technical proposals in response to Requests for Proposals (RFP). He/she will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise to the proposal team in the disciplines of supply chain management and/or aircraft maintenance processes and procedures. The Senior Technical Writer will utilize knowledge of standard RFP/contract structure, contract types and Federal Acquisition Processes to write compliant and compelling responses to competitive aviation maintenance proposals for the Federal Government.

Job Responsibilities:

*

Working with assigned Proposal Manager to develop, write, and edit aviation and/or supply chain technical sections/volumes of Government proposals

*

Review and analysis of customer-provided solicitation documents (e.g., RFP, Requests for Information [RFI]; Sources Sought requests, Performance Work Statements [PWS], Statements of Objectives [SOO], Statements of Work [SOW], and supporting technical documentation pertinent to the solicitation) for assigned proposal sections

*

Conducting extensive research as necessary to support development of proposal strategy, expanded outlines, and storyboards

*

Narrative development (writing) of assigned proposal sections including: annotated outlines, drafts, and concept sketches for proposed supporting graphic illustrations

*

Working with program and Operations Subject Matter Experts (SME) to full develop the strength of our technical approach

*

Developing and providing risk assessments for assigned proposal sections

*

Ensuring assigned writing tasks are compliant with the proposal outline, using a compliance matrix

*

Proposal color review team participation

*

Post-review document recovery and final editing of assigned documents prior to publication

*

Analysis and development of responses to Evaluation Notices (EN), clarification requests, or similar documents issued by the customer.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

*

Ability to analyze Government RFPs, develop technical solutions, and write technical sections of competitive Government proposals

*

Subject Matter Expert (SME) in supply chain management and/or aircraft maintenance processes and procedures—providing experientially-based technical advice and recommendations

*

Must possess excellent writing and communication skills

*

Must possess proposal writing experience with large scale competitive proposals for the Federal Government

*

Experience in the management of aircraft maintenance and/or supply chain for Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, Federal Aviation, or as a defense contractor.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

*

Bachelor degree in Business, Journalism, English, Marketing, Communication, or similar relevant area of study and 8 years of aviation maintenance and/or supply chain management experience; OR an associates degree in a similar area of study, and a minimum of 15 years’ aviation and or supply management experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

*

Extensive experience with Microsoft Office suite and internet applications

Editorial practice and standards with strong organization skills
