Senior Systems Administrator

Our Security Business Division helps protect sensitive government program information across a spectrum of industrial security activities to include physical, document, personnel, and data systems. In support of present work, we have an open position for a Systems Administrator located in Patuxent River MD.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Systems Administrator (SA) will have experience building, configuring, and troubleshooting systems in both a physical and virtual Windows prominent environment. The Senior (SA) will support the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) with the assessment and authorization of these systems in accordance with the Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG) and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) policies. Other duties include but are not limited to:

* Assist the ISSM with LAN/WAN network system planning, acquisition, installation, assessment and authorization in accordance with JSIG/RMF policies
* Create and maintain IS documentation
* Monitor the information systems environment and manage hardware and software maintenance to proactively prevent downtime
* Provide technical support for user account management in a server based environment
* Perform server based hardware and software maintenance
* Responsible for advanced troubleshooting of complex issues in the field
* Assisting in flaw remediation (system patching)
* Support resolution of connectivity issues
* Provide vulnerability assessment of IT environment
* Provide Tier II - III technical support to remote customer sites
* Administer information systems in a Microsoft Windows-based client/server environment, to include virtual servers utilizing Microsoft Hyper-V
* Administer the following server based software: SharePoint Server, SQL Server, Exchange Server

Education and Experience Requirements

Required Skills:

* Top Secret clearance
* SSBI completed within the past five years
* Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570. 01-M regarding Information Assurance Workforce requirements for Systems Administration.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience as a System Administrator for Windows based client - server networks and desktop systems
* Experience with virtualization technologies (i.e. Microsoft Hyper-V, VMWare, Citrix XenServer …..)
* Experience utilizing Vulnerability assessment tool (i.e. ACAS, NESSUS, STIG / SCAP)

Desired Skills:

* Experience as a System Administrator in a DoD or DoD contractor environment (military, government civilian or DoD contractor)
* Experience working within an enhanced security environment
* Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field
* Experience with the DOD accreditation process and procedures: JSIG/RMF, JAFAN 6/3 or DCID 6/3
* Experience with Microsoft Windows Hyper-V
* Experience with SharePoint, Exchange, and/or SQL Server
* Experience handling COMSEC

Security Clearance

* This position requires an active Top Secret security clearance based on a current SSBI
