Job Summary

In this role you will be responsible for managing the execution of assigned project(s) to maximize results. The Program Manager will manage cash and margin, delivering on time, in conformity with the contract and Customer expectations and work with Engineering to manage the technical expectations of the project . This position will be the single point contact to the customer for all aspects of contract execution.

Job Responsibilities

* Basic understanding of the industry and limited understanding of the customer.

* Oversee and manage system development, implementation, and installation projects supervised by higher level Managers.

* Assuming full responsibility for the delivery of the allocated project scope, with hand over from the sales team, until all obligations are complete

* Has basic understanding of Systems Engineering Concepts.

* Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Refers to policies and practices or guidance. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would normally require a moderate expenditure or resources to rectify.

* Providing adequate reporting to all stakeholders such as customers, business partners and management including; preparing and presenting monthly project and financial reviews to management.

* Managing the internal and external communication loop.

* Ensures that all required resources such as engineering, engineering support, production, services, facilities and the like are available for the program. As well as organizing the project team and ensuring the member have clearly identified roles.

* Responsible for meeting program budget and schedule.

* Builds stable working relationships internally. External customer contacts are typically first level program management, engineering, maintenance and procurement agents.

* Responsible for managing programs which are of relatively low risk and complexity or portions of a larger program. Typically responsible for programs between $10-$25M (total program).

* Addressing any scope change by deciding on action and leading them in consideration of the defines strategy and informing Management of any impact on the over performance of the project.

* Updating and reviewing the risk and opportunities of the project.

* Developing the project schedule, manage project float to ensure timely completion.

* Monitoring and reporting the necessary key performance indicators.

* Plans, directs and monitors program collateral budget and serves as primary customer contact for program information. May have R&D responsibility for upgrades to existing products. May have responsibility for Profit/Loss of the program.

* Up to 25% travel is required.

The goals for the first 6 months to a year are as follows:

* Act as Project Manager for one or more projects.

* Ensure the projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and with customer satisfaction

* Achieve as-bid project margins

* Understand RC IMS hardware and software products and deliverables

* If not PMP certified, begin PMI certification as part of IMS PM Level 2 certification

* Complete IMS PM training in accordance with PM System requirements

* Ensure all IMS ISO, CMMI, and TSSEP policies and procedures are implemented on all projects

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience.

* Expereince working with control systems integration, SCADA, or software systems integration engineering experience, ideally with relevant industrial experience in managing / leading fixed price contract execution.

* Experience as manager of a large project including staffing and project scope.

* Prior management experience with software and hardware engineers.

* Understanding of real-time software and the software project life-cycle is required.

* Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

* Must have excellent computer and presentation skills.

* Proficient in the Microsoft Office Application Suite.

* Knowledge of project planning tools, including MS Project and/or Primavera.

Desired Experience:

* Expereince with train control or SCADA systems or process automation integration

* Primavera / MS Project User
