Your Role
You have extensive experience in the design and development of power electronics, particularly for the application of controlling electrical machines. Embedded inside a multi-disciplinary team, you develop the power electronics and control algorithms that control the electric motors of the Volocopter.
Your Tasks
- Design and development of the inverter for motor control of the Volocopter
- Design of the control algorithms for the electric motor control
- Responsible for specification and test of the inverter
- Responsible for prototyping and industrialization of the power electronics from suppliers
- Support to verification, validation and airworthiness certification processes
- Ensuring design alignment with the electric motor and battery
- Participate in flight-and laboratory test activities
Requirements
- Master/Ph.D. Degree in Electronics, Electrical engineering, Mechatronics or similar
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional work experience in development of inverter incl. power electronics
- Track record of aerospace development
- Good knowledge of power electronics and inverters for synchronous motors PMSM
- Experience with relevant development tools (e.g. MatLab/Simulink, Spice, Altium)
- Ideally, knowledge of electric motors for aircraft
- A structured way of working, high sense of responsibility and accountability
- Team Player and organizational talent, flexibility and initiative
- Good language skills in English; German is a plus
