Job Title: Senior Intelligence Lead

Salary: £50,000-55,000 depending on skills and relevant experience

Contract type: Permanent

Location: Gatwick

The Role:

As a result of an internal promotion, we are looking for someone with an innovative and engaging approach to join our Safety, Performance and Risk (SP&R) team.

You will be responsible for co-creating and managing safety intelligence products to support the production and maintenance of aviation safety risk pictures and the provision of actionable safety intelligence to Safety and Airspace Regulation Group (SARG) and the wider CAA.

You will shape and influence the future design, development and use of the systems and processes currently used by the SP&R team and the wider CAA, as well as new solutions under our Big Data Project. You must be comfortable in taking a statistical approach to your work as, where necessary, you will provide expertise to wider SP&R projects and embed new systems and analysis methodologies into the team.

You will understand, interpret and translate analytical requirements, ensuring they are developed and embedded into day to day activities.

You will act as a UK focal point on regulations and working groups pertinent to the work of SP&R to ensure that UK requirements are met through high level engagement with the European Commission and EASA.

You will provide strategic and tactical liaison with the Shared Service Centre (SSC) Safety Data.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have

 A degree in a numerate discipline

 A strong communication style, with excellent verbal and written presentation skills, who can effectively engage and work collaboratively at all levels

 The ability to persuade and motivate teams

 The ability to interpret data and service requirements and translate those requirements to simple language

 An understanding of international regulatory institutions, particularly within Europe (e.g. Commission and EASA), and how best to engage and influence them

 The ability to represent the UK (CAA) position on international working groups and influence regulatory policy and best practice with respect to risk assessment and safety analysis
