Job Role:

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of safety, security, and quality assurance compliance and will be located in Seattle.

Responsibilities include:

* Acts as a subject matter expert on employee injuries, aircraft ground damages and station compliance

* Provides safety point of contact support through on-site visits and incident response for a group of stations within the Domestic region

* Reviews, interprets and communicates procedures outlined in the Ground Operations Manual (GOM), Safety Policies and Procedures Manual (SPPM), and regional SOPs as well as administering and maintaining the overall Safety Business Plan and injury / ground safety incident investigation programs for all assigned stations

* Analyzes station performance and compliance to practices/procedures through observations, cross divisional audits, and monitoring of system trends

* Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being

* Develops, communicates, and executes divisional programs designed to ensure compliance with all company and governmental regulations while protecting Delta employees and assets

* Recommends and coordinates proposed changes with operational leaders and various departments and tracks results of corrective action implementation

* Identifies and conducts awareness training on compliance and works with station leadership to coach and mentor DL teams and/or business partners to ensure effective implementation of compliance processes and procedures as needed

* Works closely with ACS and Corporate Safety, Security, and Compliance teams

* Coordinates / facilitates safety efforts with ground business partners and Delta Connection carriers

* Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

* A college degree or equivalent job experience, along with a leadership background is preferred

* Must have at least 3 years of relevant airline or safety/compliance related work experience

* Work experience in operations, passenger service, air logistics, fueling, or cabin services is highly desirable

* This position requires a strong working knowledge of Delta policies and procedures

* Must have the ability to objectively analyze incidents, injuries and damages with a focus on developing solutions and implementing processes to prevent recurrences

* Ability to exercise attention to detail and utilize structured problem solving in proactively identifying hazards and compliance trends with associated risk is essential

* Must have the ability to influence without direct authority and be able to provide consultation and guidance across all levels of the organization

* Strong executive presence with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of leadership

* Effective deck building skills required to ensure data and information is effectively communicated in a clear, concise and simple manner

* Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, PPT, Excel)

* Experience in Delta Term, SafetyNet, SMS, and ASAP is desired

* Must possess excellent teamwork skills and be self-motivated and disciplined to meet deadlines while balancing both tactical station support and strategic continuous improvement responsibilities
