The hardware design engineer researches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.

Typical Roles and Responsibilities:

Creation of RF and DC system power budgets

* Familiarity with important RF system parameters (SNR/LDR/NF/compression/isolation)

*

Familiarity with Data collection and analysis tools (Network/Spectrum Analyzers)

*

Collaboration with System and subsystem architect leads

*

Performing trade studies

*

Interface development

*

Derivation of device requirements





Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor of Science degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering

* 9 years w/Bachelors degree, 7 years w/Masters, 4 years w/PhD

* Minimum of 4 years experience in hardware design

* Effective verbal and written communication, ability to work in a team environment

* Secret Clearance required prior to start

Preferred Qualifications:

*

Advanced degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering

*

Minimum of 10 years experience in hardware design

*

Knowledge of Radar Modes and Integrating test equipment

*

Effective verbal and written communication, Technical Lead experience

*

Secret Clearance reviewed within last 5 years
