Position Summary:

This is a hands-on working position that will engage in a wide variety of quality assurance activities. Support Production (QA’s internal Customer) as necessary to achieve the highest level of quality for Customers.

Reporting Relationships:

The Quality Inspector - will report to the Inspection Supervisor

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

* Non-conformances
* Creation of NC/Discrepant Material Report (DMR)
* Supporting Production employees in determining root cause/corrective action for internal nonconformances

* ‘First Part Buy’ (FPB) Inspection
* Perform FPB inspection as required by Production
* Collaborate with Machinists to ensure all parts will be compliant (share any concerns sparked by FPB inspection)

* Interact w/ Q.E.’s on CMM program development for a FAIR
* Inspection Plans: Manufacturing Inspection Plans (MIP) and Final Inspection Plans (FIP)
* Interaction with Production on the creation, implementation, usage and revision of MIPs

* Perform data entry activities and record preparation after inspection
* Creation of In-House Engineering Documents from customer supplied Model Based Definitions
* Perform all functions associated w/ Inspector II as required

Required Skills:

* Proficient in the use of precision measurement tools/equipment including but not limited to caliper, micrometer, height gage and CMM.
* Knowledgeable of Engineering drawings/models
* Computer literate
* Basics of CATIA

Required Experience:

2 years of experience in Inspection

Level of Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent education
