Walden’s Machine was founded in 1976 by Charlie Walden. Primus purchased Walden’s in 2006 and PCC purchased Primus in 2011. The Company offers a complete range of products and services including high speed machining (3, 4 & 5 axis medium/complex aluminum and hard metal machining), kitting, assembly and integration, decorative coatings, airfoil/propulsion structures specialist and global supply chain management. Position Summary:

This is a 6 month co-op position requiring 30+ hours a week. This engineering co-op will be within the Quality department. Projects may involve areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. Co-Ops will gain expereince in working with and interpreting 3D models using CATIA software. The co-op will gain exposure to typical Quality Engineering functions, Lean, Six Sigma and 6S.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

* Develop, coordinate, implement, update, monitor, and assure compliance with policies and procedures
* Monitor policies and procedure’s effectiveness through teamwork and statistical methods; Recommend improvements; Support training
* Support program and audit Corrective Action with root cause analysis, metrics, proposed solutions, and closure reporting
* Gain familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods and implementation

Required Skills:

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Eposure to CATIA or other CAD software is a plus
* Good blueprint reading and manufacturing/inspection related math skills
* Excellent verbal and written skills and an ability to work proactively in a teamwork environment
* Critical problem analysis, decision making and analytical abilities

Required Experience:

* Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus

Level of Education:

* Current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial systems, materials science, or manufacturing engineering
