Quality Engineer (Minneapolis, MN

Responsibilities include:

Conducts tests, inspections, audits and validations to
ensure process compliance with contract, KBR and customer requirements and
specifications for design, engineering, products, equipment, maintenance and
services.

Review and conduct First Article Inspections (FAIs).

*
Validate that certification/calibration for operators and special processes is current.

*
Conduct source inspections, evaluations and/or surveillance of vendors, suppliers and subcontractors.

*
Use and care for inspection tools, measuring and test equipment.

*
Conduct sampling inspections in accordance with approved plans and procedures.

*
Participate in root-cause-analysis.

*
Conduct follow-up audits to review the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.

*
Collect and use statistical data for the monitoring and evaluation of trends.

*
Provide training and tutoring to other inspection personnel.

*
Participate in design reviews to ensure inclusion of quality requirements.

*
Provide activity and status reports to management.

* Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

*
BS degree in a technical discipline (i.e., engineering, computer science, quality assurance) with 2 years of directly related experience or equivalent work experience In lieu of degree

* Ability to adequately read, speak, and perform data entry in English.

Hands‐on experience with quality assurance processes including, but not limited to, inspection of hardware and paperwork, First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR), product and process audits, FAA audits, direct ship audits, and special process audits

Fostering Teamwork & Diversity: high level of interpersonal skills is required to handle difficult situations as well as to diffuse interpersonal conflict effectively

Additional Qualifications:

Ability to read, understand and interpret blue prints/ drawings and other technical documents that describe the requirements and applicable criteria.

Ability to use most inspection tools, measuring and test equipment.

*
Ability to read and understand policies, procedures and processes.

*
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills at all levels of the organization.

*
Demonstrated technical knowledge, strong leadership and interpersonal skills

*
Strong understanding of Quality engineering practices applicable to the manufacture of Aerospace products including customer and industry standards.

*
Ability to interpret purchase orders, Aerospace engineering drawings, and industrial specifications, including demonstrated proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5). Must pass Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) test.
