ZENETEX specializes in management and technology support services for a variety of federal agencies and commercial organizations. We have an opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Assistant to support our Mission Valley corporate team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

* Purchases materials, equipment, supplies, and services of a specialized or complex nature in compliance with purchasing policies and procedures
* Receives, reviews, and analyzes purchase requisitions; evaluates methods for, and recommends improvements in, processing of purchase requisitions; and monitors change orders
* Works with various program managers/personnel to identify and prioritize purchases in support of specific projects/programs
* Communicates with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
* Expedites orders and requests as needed
* Performs clerical duties related to the business of purchasing
* Edits purchase requests and prepares purchase orders
* Maintains files and records of materials, prices, inventories, and deliveries
* Investigates and develops sources of supplies; issues bid requests, prepares bid specifications, formal bid invitations, or requests for proposals; receives and analyzes bids, quotes, and proposals; selects and awards vendors to procure requisitioned commodities; and administers contracts
* Assists with other contractual actions required to ensure overall management of purchase orders in a timely, accurate, and effective manner in compliance with FAR, agency-specific, and corporate policies, processes and procedures
* Codes credit card charges into .xls format for accounting data entry

Education and Experience Requirements

* High School diploma
* A minimum of 1 year of experience purchasing for a company which does business with the Federal Government (preferably Department of Defense).
* Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and/or DoD 5000 series regulations and laws, executive orders, statutes, policies, and other purchasing requirements necessary to accomplish assigned duties.
* Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
* Experience with Microsoft Office 365 SharePoint
* Experience with CPSR’s and/or approved purchasing systems
* Demonstrated written and oral communications skills are required, as well as the ability to work independently and meet critical deadlines
* Effective administrative and organizational skills also required
