What you will do as a Project Estimating Engineer:

As The Project Estimating Engineer, you will work closely with the Sales and Project Engineering team to support company growth through uncovering and securing project opportunities with new and current customers. This position is pivotal to our business process and plays an important role of offering engineering, company and customer expertise. The key to success an a Project Estimating Engineer is the ability to formulate an effective strategy which allows for winning projects, achieving acceptable profitability, and ensuring successful project execution. The Project Estimating Engineer will contact clients to evaluate quote opportunities, establishes quote strategy, generates costing/pricing, and writes quote documents, primarily for a broad range of customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clarify client needs regarding scope of work, project schedule, and project specifications after RFQ is received
• Source and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for material costing
• Complete project pricing of projects for CSI products/services
• Formulate competitive offer strategy and create client proposal documents
• Organize and lead departmental reviews on assigned projects.
•Holds bi-weekly status meetings with team members. Delegates work to team members to ensure even workload
•Assist Estimating Manager with completion of strategic initiatives

Position Requirements:

Education and/or Experience
• 2 to 4 years of related experience as project engineer, applications engineer, inside sales, sales engineer, estimating, preferably with industrial and/or manufacturing applications
•Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or related
• Previous experience communicating technical concepts with client and ability generate good dialogue with clients and with team members
• Ability to quickly adapt approach and style when working with customers and team members
• Ability to complete calculations such as area, circumference, unit conversions, and simple financial calculations such as gross margin
• Ability to self-manage time and workload, work independently
• Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
• Ability to properly prioritize tasks and work under pressure
• Ability to adapt to different personality styles
