Moog’s Space and Defense Group (SDG) offers premier
motion and flow control solutions for satellites, human-rated space vehicles,
launch vehicles, missiles, military ground vehicles, naval vessels, as well as
security and surveillance. Currently, our Santa Barbara team is seeking a Program
Manager to join the team. Under the direction of the Staff
Program Manager, the Program Manager coordinates and supports all activities
related to his/her assigned programs. You will serve as the primary interface
between the customer and Moog and is responsible for compliance with all
contractual requirements.

Here’s what you’ll work on:

* Support
Sales in proposal development
* Act
as the primary contact with the customer for passing information in either
direction.
* Assure
that the contractual requirements for hardware and software are met through
planning, monitoring and expediting.
* Develop
the master program schedule with Manufacturing and Engineering;
coordinates schedule plans and changes with the customer.
* Monitor
program costs, schedules, task completion and deliveries against the
program plan.
* Report
program status to management on a regular basis, reports major events and
problems as they occur.
* Provides
inputs to Sales Managers for development of bookings and Sales Forecasts.
* Writes
and distributes call reports on customer visits which include status of
current programs, leads on new business and trends in hardware problems,
and program pricing.

These are the skills you’ll bring with you:

* Bachelor’s
degree in a technical field preferably engineering, and a minimum of ten
years of work experience, and at least 2 years program related work
experience.
* Preferred
understanding of the technology involved with the product he/she is
assigned and the Moog systems related to the product.
* Must
be familiar with methods, procedures and techniques used in quality
control systems and material control systems.
* Must
have excellent listening and persuasive skills to both understand and
expedite where necessary. In addition, people skills must be used in
handling the customer in a positive manner regardless of the situation.
* Ability
to organize people, the ability to influence, and outstanding ability to
communicate and facilitate.
* Proven
knowledge and experience with formal project management, including use of
project management tools, including Earned Value Management preferred.
* Must
have good writing skills for customer and Moog communications as well as
proposal work.
