Position Overview:

The role of the Program Director is to oversee the planning and execution of assigned programs using available tools and resources to achieve established performance objectives. The Director is required to monitor and coordinate the activities of a cross-functional team in order to deliver programs according to plan and to ensure that overall company goals and objectives are achieved. The Program Director is also required to support and/or lead the successful capture of select business development opportunities.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

* Direct planning and execution of assigned Canadian and/or International programs.

* Work in collaboration with senior management and other key stakeholders to ensure all assigned program goals and objectives are met to support IMP Aerospace business goals.

* Oversee performance management processes/functions on assigned programs.

* Ensure compliance with all company processes and procedures.

* Where required, negotiate with other senior functional managers for access to and, where appropriate, assignment of required support and/or resources from within the company.

* Define project performance criteria and monitor cost/schedule performance throughout the program life cycle.

* Provide regular and timely briefings and reports on assigned programs to the Customer, key stakeholders and/or senior management.

* Responsible for the coordination and development of key project planning activities and associated deliverables.

* Act as the principal interface between IMP Aerospace and the Customer for program management matters for all assigned programs.

* Direct dedicated or assigned staff and the project management process.

* Build, develop and grow any business relationships vital to the success of assigned programs.

* Support ongoing business development initiatives through the submission of proposals, SOI’s, RFI’s etc.

* Keep abreast of related activities occurring in other Aerospace & Defence Operating Units.

* Foster supportive relations with the aircraft and aircraft systems’ OEMs to promote mutual business opportunities.

* Support VP Programs in special assignments and take on assigned activities as required within IMP Aerospace.

Position Requirements:

* Previous experience managing a major program is essential.Proven experience interfacing with Customers and/or Government Executive Level personnel.Experience in defence, aerospace or aviation industry.

* Senior management experience involving projects/programs and/or operations.

* Post-Secondary Education, Aerospace/Engineering Degree or advanced Business Degree is essential.

* PMI Certificate or equivalent experience. Formal Project or Program Management training is highly desirable.

* Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities and experience

* Ability to effectively handle stressful situations and thrive in a fast paced, diverse environment.

* Excellent, proven communication skills (oral & written).

* Ability to take initiative and follow through with projects and meet deadlines.

* Strong working knowledge of all required MS Office software, including Project.

* Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies.Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.

* Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 8S activities in your area.

* Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances.
