Based in Kanona, NY you will perform car production work. Remove, repair and replace components in the production of the overhaul and refurbishing or rail cars to contractual specifications. Install rail interior furnishings, trim and accessories according to specifications.

In your role you will:

- Performs metal finishing efficiently and properly, fit and install functional units, parts, or equipment, etc., in structural assembly according to blue prints and specifications.

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and production procedures to determine measurements and installation procedures, working as a team member guided by good quality and timeliness.

- Creates jigs, fixtures, and other production time--saving devices from drawings.

- Brazing and soldering, layout and bend pipes.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate:

- Ability to recognize problems and appropriately and efficiently make repairs.
- Ability to perform basic mechanical task - manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination are necessary.
- Must know how to use safely and correctly hand and power tools.
- Must be able to perform heavy lifting (80 pounds or more), manual labor and be able to operate related tools.
- High School diploma or equivalent
