Production Manager

Position Description:

Amptek – Production Manager
Amptek is a world leader in the design, development, manufacture, and sale of radiation detection components. These components are used in X-ray and gamma-ray detection for the laboratory and portable instrumentation industries, for analytical and other applications, and for the satellite industry. We provide radiation detectors, signal processing electronics, software, and other components to OEMs and to end users.
Purpose
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic manager who can apply their skills in solving problems, improving business processes and implement process improvements.
Responsibilities
• Manage and schedule production work for assigned department and assure that products are produced on time and are of high quality.
• Manage a 10-person production department, including annual reviews, goal setting, and professional development.
• Lead role within the department and production group for process improvement, and achieving department and company goals.
• Collaborate with sales, purchasing and other production groups to ensure that production resources and materials match market demands and sales requirements.
• Review orders for feasibility and accuracy and recommend changes as needed.

Position Requirements:

Requirements
• BS or equivalent work experience
• 3-5 years’ with direct supervision of a manufacturing group
• Proven people manager who can motivate staff and colleagues on an individual and team level.
• Skilled at working with colleagues from all organizational levels.
• Hands on experience in building and maintaining process control systems
• A record of process improvements such as inventory and lead time reduction, introduction of KanBan concepts, or quality improvement.
• Ideal industry experience: electromechanical or semiconductor.
