SkyBitz, a division of Telular, provides remote tank monitoring, asset tracking, and data reporting services through a combination of hardware, cloud-based software and network communication services to deliver actionable tank level data and analytics for bulk stored liquids such as chemicals, diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), fuels, lubricants, water applications and propane. We are looking for individuals with energy, passion and vision to help provide our customers with superior solutions and maintain our leadership position in the market.

This is a key leadership role reporting to the Senior Vice President of Product Line Management and Marketing and will have the responsibility for driving strategic direction, program development, sales enablement, and product solution planning for the full suite of our tank monitoring solutions. The successful candidate will be creative, analytical, innovative and strategic in nature, able to negotiate and influence at the executive and manager levels.

The Product Manager will analyze industry and customer trends to develop deep market understanding and then specify a portfolio of products, services and solutions to meet the needs of customers. The role will establish relationships with both external suppliers and internal parties by working collaboratively to deploy creative and industry solutions. To be successful, the candidate must have highly-polished program management and product management skills. The candidate must be technically savvy, possess a big-picture vision, and have the ability to drive and make a product vision a reality. He/she also must be highly skilled in writing (e.g. Product Requirement Documents, etc), building business cases, presentations, negotiating (internal and external), and general communication skills.

Responsibilities:
The specific duties of this role will include, but not be limited to the following:
• On-going solution assessments within the context of the competitive landscape and customer needs (current and future). Conduct and manage market-driven feedback to develop clear customer/market requirements from feature requests.
• Managing and driving a product’s roadmap from all phases of its lifecycle, including concept and ROI development through product launch and end of life planning.
• Manage technology transition and roadmap navigation guidance: gather relevant fact points and develop prescriptive recommendations for the various customer usage models and business segments.
• Apply broad knowledge of company’s product/service capabilities and competitive environment to identify new growth areas, recent technology and emerging product/service opportunities.
• Defining the contents and delivery of product releases with engineering department. This requires being able to clearly communicate with all areas of the company, including working with counterparts to define product release requirements.
• Managing a cross functional core team that is charged with both increasing the profitability of existing solutions and developing innovative solutions for the marketplace.
• Building products from existing ideas and help develop new ideas by combining the present and future realities of applicable technologies.
• Work directly with marketing department to define the go-to-market strategy facilitating product positioning, key benefits, and target customers.
• Serve as the internal and external evangelist for the product offering(s), and work with the sales channel and key customers to develop business requirement and manage pilots of new technology solutions.
• Oversee the development and execution of all customer training tools that complement the new products and features.
• Help marketing drive comprehensive portfolio of competitive 3rd party analysis, market research, surveys or other quantitative measures to maintain understanding of the market and validate effectiveness of content/training/deliverable.
• Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
o Specifying market requirements for products by conducting market research supported by continuous market contacts.
o Conduct market, situational, competitive and trend analysis
o Conduct benefit analysis, risk analysis, assess opportunity costs as well as analyze make / buy decision criteria.
o Determine functionality, features, benefits, pricing and timeline of product or service.

Position Requirements:

• 5+ years of technical product management experience including a mix of electronics and web applications product environments
• Knowledgeable in remote monitoring technology, SaaS solutions and development practices
• Experience with developing business plans for new product introductions into industrial markets is preferred
• Comfort with presentations to the C-Level
• Recent experience with SaaS solutions is preferred
• Experience in developing products for the tank storage industry is a plus
• Highly skilled communicator (written and oral) able to lead at all business levels and functions.
• Strong inter-personal skills is must
• This position requires travel up to 25%.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business is required; MBA or Master’s Degree in relevant technical fields is preferred.
