About The Job

This job is a member of the Regional IT team, within the Information Technology Division. This position is a senior technical role on a highly skilled and experienced team providing technical application design and leadership services to the regional IT team supporting the wholly owned regional carriers Envoy, PSA, and Piedmont. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to think both tactically and strategically. This position will reside at the Envoy Headquarters Building in Irving, Texas.

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

* Oversee and contribute to the technical approach of application design

* Collaborate with developers to guide the architecture approach for the Functional and Technical Design; reviews, revises, and approves the content of these design documents

* Collaborate with stakeholders to find solutions that balance IT standards, business needs, and total cost of ownership

* Create required documents to support technical application architecture, vision, strategy, standards, policies, and presentations

* Continually contributes technical input and responses in meetings and discussions in order to support the best application architecture

* Escalate technical issues when needed to keep project on track and minimize risk

* Create, maintain, and communicate application architecture standards and procedures related to design, development, and other associated activities

* Review Business Requirements documents and where applicable, offers cost effective alternative best-practice solutions prior to start of design

* Consult and advise resources for related application architecture and infrastructure services and technologies

* Applie appropriate technology to reduce costs and/or improve productivity resulting in value to the company

* Maintain an effective approach on problem solving, multi-tasking, coordinating, and scheduling in accordance with stated goals to ensure visibility and predictability

* Influence and empowers team members for growth and independence

* Consistently demonstrate a positive, professional, leadership attitude and frame of mind when working with and communicating with others

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology , Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training

* 5 years architectural and design experience

* Proven ability to build strong and sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders

* Hands-on experience in systems development in a variety of computing architectures and environments; proven experience with conceptual strategy and direction

* Proficient in Agile and SDLC methodologies

* Proficient in application architecture and design

* Broad knowledge of enterprise services including database, integration, security, and storage.

* Significant experience in requirements analysis and use case development, with a thorough understanding of software development life cycles, development and technology tools, testing methodologies, and requirements gathering

* Experience supporting and directing technical architecture for supported business domains

* Passion for change and continual improvement with ability to effectively lead, drive, and support change

* Proven ability to work across multiple functional teams in the creation of business solutions

* Experience with the operations characteristics of large scale and highly available computer systems deployed in a variety of software and hardware environments

* Knowledge of systems integration practices and understanding of Service Oriented Architecture principles and practices

* Ability to simultaneously manage a large Architect workload involving multiple projects, day-to-day tasks, meetings and ad-hoc technical requests

Preferred Qualifications

* Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology , Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training

* 3 years of technical or team leadership experience

* Airline industry experience

* Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels within the organization

* Ability to explain technical concepts and adjust messaging based on the audience, including non-technical groups and executives

* Ability to influence through outstanding interpersonal skills, collaboration, and negotiation skills

* Ability to work well within a team environment, as well as independently
