Position Description:

*This position is located in La Mirada, CA.
Relocation is NOT provided.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Responsible for directing and overseeing all activities involved in the installation and implementation of systems. This includes developing and implementing operations department processes. Responsible for oversight and management of staff Project Managers, Engineering, Project Coordinators, & Technicians and the projects they are working on; Interface with Service, Purchasing and provide strategic planning and implementation. Responsible for profitable implementation of projects.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure total customer satisfaction.

Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures.

Manage Engineering, Project Management and Service Functions.

Review all new projects.

Review financial statements and data. Utilize financial data to improve profitability.

Lead billing and costing meetings for all projects. Control inventory. Plan effective strategies for the financial well-being of the company.

Work with HR to assure adequate staffing levels for business needs

Prudently assign installation projects to project managers.

Review and maintain staff certifications.

Oversee the review of all prints, specifications and layouts of each job.

Oversee the comparison of the specifications with the blueprints, document any discrepancies and ensure they are corrected.

Oversee the installation of systems to meet customer expectations.

Oversee the coordination and interaction with contractors and installation, and support personnel before, during and after the installation.

Work closely with service manager in sharing resources as needed.

Ensure quality of work is to company standards.

Know contract limitations. Complete associated paperwork.

Attend continuing education opportunities to stay current on the technical and managerial skills needed for this position.

Work with staff to ensure effective communications between team members is occurring on all projects.

Position Requirements:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

B.S. in business administration, management, engineering or operations or equivalent industry relevant experience in critical communications, healthcare, education, security, IT or Telecom (Master’s degree a plus).

Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management.

Knowledge of business and management principles and practices.

Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices.

Knowledge of project management principles and practices.

Information technology skills a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to interface with customers (end users, contractors) for problem solving and escalation of issues.

Ability to work with all levels of the organization to improve processes and procedures.

Must understand union contracts.

Must be able to prioritize.

Strong organization skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Good computer skills.

Ability to trouble-shoot / problem solve the needs of staff based on company goals and policies.

Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized.

Ability to encourage team work, handle conflict, and utilize negotiation skills as required.

Must be a critical thinker and possess excellent problem solving skills.

Effectively prioritize tasks and meet established deadlines.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse groups.
