2Excel Aviation Ltd is seeking an experienced Operations Crew Planner to join our existing Operations Team based at Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield. 2Excel Aviation Ltd is an industry leader in specialised and innovative solutions for aviation’s most complex challenges. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the role of the Operations Crew Planner (OCP) is to produce a legal, timely crew roster, ensuring crew ground and air training requirements are planned in advance in order to support the delivery of the Company’s flying programme, including freight, VIP charter and trial support. The role requires a strong working relationship with Heads of each department and aircrew to overcome challenges associated with bespoke training requirements, the local environment and the specific types of tasking at all the 2Excel operating bases.

The role is full time, working Monday to Friday and may require some occasional travel to other 2Excel locations. You will need to make responsive, balanced and responsible decisions, taking into account conflicting needs and balancing operational/safety requirements with revenue protection and industrial/regulatory constraints. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing a safe, legal crew roster for each silo in a timely manner in accordance with the Company FTL schemes, CAP 371 and EASA regulations.
  • Organising ground and air training in advance, in order to support the flying roster
  • Weekly liaison with each Head of Department or deputy to ensure rostered events are at the satisfaction of each department.
  • Supporting the Operations Manager and Supervisor with administrative duties as required to support all aspects of Operations

The successful applicant will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Solid knowledge of Flight Time Limitations in accordance with CAP 371 and EASA regulations.
  • Understanding of the different air and ground crew training requirements and currencies.
  • Experience in an Operations environment.
  • Strong academic achievement, typically to at least O level/GCSE standard or equivalent, with a strong attainment in Science and Maths, indicating strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of civilian aircrew/commercial aviation rules and regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of crew planning and rostering systems, including an understanding of potential issues and how they may be resolved
  • Excellent communicator and team player, able to build credible trusting relationships both within and outside of own department.
  • Able to work well under pressure, ensuring a continued attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work on own initiative, continually seeking improvements and an excellent problem solver.
  • Excellent IT skills, fully competent in full Microsoft Office suite.
