Operational Analytics Business Intelligence

Position description

The Operational Efficiency & Analytics team is part of the Flight Operations Engineering and dedicated to the operational total cost optimization within Flight Operations. In this role, Operational Efficiency & Analytics proposes, recommends and assesses operational efficiency measures based on data analytics.

As holder of the position “Operational Analytics & Business Intelligence” you will be responsible for operational efficiency related business intelligence and lead the availability and enhancement of post-flight analysis tools and processes in order to considerably contribute to a sustainable and measureable efficiency increase of our operations.

Your Duties

* Develop state-of-the-art business intelligence methods contributing to an intelligent steering of the SWISS flight operations including the evaluation of further efficiency potential and standards
* Lead the ongoing development of the operational post-flight analysis system that enables fact-based decision-making and ad-hoc analysis
* Support the conception and establishment of flight operations analytics for SWISS as well as the Lufthansa Group in terms of data analysis, business intelligence and predictive analytics
* Ensure proper operational efficiency relevant data collection, availability, integrity and quality
* Create and define operational or procedural KPIs/SPIs and dashboards for various target groups including the initiation of corrective actions regarding potential fuel and cost savings
* Lead and establish workshops with (group-)internal interfaces and providers to ensure that flight and operational data collections meet current and future business requirements
* Ensure impact assessments of change requests and system architecture developments for operational data collection
* Implement change requests according to the pre-defined change management concept
* Collaborate with other operational fields and associated Lufthansa Group entities in order to identify needs and opportunities for post-flight data analysis topics
* Define and implement operational efficiency relevant measures and policies in agreement with the relevant stakeholder
* Review, publish and share operational efficiency queries and subjects via the established information and training channels

Requirements

* Master degree (or equivalent) in engineering, mathematics, physics or data science
* Profound knowledge of MS Office applications, experience in programming (e.g. R or Python) and data visualization (with e.g. Tableau software) as well as advanced knowledge of data analytics and statistics is an advantage
* Strong analytical skills
* Systematic and structured work approach
* Ability to set priorities and to understand complex situations and dependencies
* Self-dependent, open-minded and problem-solving oriented personality with proactive attitude
* Well-developed communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
* Knowledge of flight operations environment and processes is an advantage
* Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
