The Electronic Warfare Division of Leidos presently has an opening for a Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to work with our team on Eglin AFB, FL. This is an excellent opportunity for an early career MBSE engineer to help the USAF define the needs of our future fighting force. Working with a team from the Air Force Research Lab, you will explore how future weapons systems enable our future fighting force through conducting detailed campaign analysis (wargaming). Through the use of STORM and other tools you will conduct wargames and determine loss ratios and quantify the interplay between complex military systems.

Primary Responsibilities

As a MBSE with Leidos, you will work with a team of experts in a challenging environment to explore how future weapons perform as part of a larger fighting forces using detailed campaign analysis. You will exercise existing tools and models and create new models to represent new and emerging systems. You will have the opportunity to be exposed to cutting edge new weapons and technologies as you develop performance models to include in the campaign analysis. You will have to opportunity to interact with USAF leaders by developing reports and presentations which highlight the effectiveness of new technologies.

Basic Qualifications

Applicants must be a US Citizen and hold a SECRET clearance (or be able to obtain one in 6 months).

Candidate must be able to work on Eglin AFB in a laboratory environment.

Applicants must have a BS in Aerospace or Systems Engineering or other closely related field with 4-8 years of relevant experience in campaign modeling OR a MS in Aerospace or Systems Engineering with 2-6 years of experience.

The candidate must be able to function independently with little supervision.

The ability to function on a multidisciplinary team is a must.

Experience in simulation environments such as MATLAB, and the ability to program using Python or C++.

Prior experience using Monte Carlo techniques and statistical analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have recent and relevant experience with STORM.

Demonstrated experience with Oracle, MSQL, and/or Microsoft databases.

Experience with stochastics simulations.

Understanding of military CONOPS.

Experience with Warfighting simulations with development of model inputs with a focus on USAF operations is desired.
