The SMP Operations segment of PCC Airfoils consists of two manufacturing locations - Wickliffe and Eastlake, Ohio. SMP manufactures investment castings utilizing proprietary technology for use in aerospace and industrial gas turbine engines. Products and systems manufactured in these operations must meet extremely close tolerance limits and adhere to customer specifications. The operations are expanding due to sales volume increase and this provides unique opportunities for career growth and development:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare (cut, mount, and polish) and interpret Metallographic samples for special requests and heat treat batches.

*

Maintain micro I.D. and heat treat batch logs.

*

Maintain lab in terms of segregation/identification of samples and general cleanliness of the area.

*

Prepare metallographic reports.

*

Obtain laboratory samples from customers

*

Set-up laboratory equipment and develop testing and prepping procedures for customers’ samples

*

Train customers and employees on correct methodology for testing.

*

Advise customers on any consumables that will be needed for testing samples.

*

Conduct product demonstrations at customer sites, in-house, and at trade shows.

QUALIFICATIONS:

*

Associates or Bachelor of Science in Material Sciences, Metallurgy, or a related field is preferred but not required.

*

Experience testing steel, titanium, nickel, or similar.

*

Metallography and microscopy experience.

*

2 to 5 years manufacturing experience.

*

Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

*

Computer knowledge in Excel.

*

Must be well organized and able to self-direct daily activities.

*

Must have a High School Diploma or GED.

* Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
