Position Description:

Manufacturing/Mechanical/Process Engineer. Duties include the direct support of the manufacturing floor, which could involve overall process analysis and improvements, production support, mechanical design, documentation development and quality enforcement and improvements.

• Partner with Engineering, Sales and Production teams to deliver results.
• Responsible for prioritization of production, prototype and service center manufacturing support.
• Support new product development and develop processes to provide a quality product from inception to completion.
• Work with supply chain to optimize internal processes to increase productivity.
• Provides technical advice and knowledge as needed on projects.
• Familiar with common shop processes and equipment including welding, brazing, soldering, printed circuit board assembly and electronic testing.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot equipment and products.
• Drive daily production improvements and meeting on time delivery metrics.
• Work with customer service and program managers to meet customer satisfaction metrics.
• Work with Quality, Production and Service Center management to resolve quality issues.
• Lead continuous improvement activity within the factory.
• Lead new product transition from design to production.
• Improve factory performance by executing lean manufacturing initiatives such as Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, SIOP, 5S, and Kaizen while maintaining focus on Quality improvements.
• Work with EHS to ensure shop meets all standards and requirements and recommend improvements where necessary.
• Initiate improvement ideas and see through to implementation.
• Work directly with all managers to research, suggest and implement process improvements throughout facility.
• Develop routers and visual work instructions to support production activity and reduce variability.
• Lead, direct and support PFMEA activity to improve quality.
• Any other work as assigned.
