Job Description
Manufacturing Engineer
Wyman-Gordon, located in Princeton KY, provides Nickel-based Extruded Powder Alloy for Military and Commercial Turbine Applications. The Princeton MI facility offers Vacuum-Melt Atomizers; for the raw material needs of the Worcester MA forge Isothermal forge shop. This growing, profit center is part of a highly successful, multi-billion diversified manufacturer. Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC).
The Manufacturing Engineer will provide program support to both Manufacturing and the Engineering organizations. The role will be responsible for driving process improvement changes, mechanical improvements and back up the Controls Engineer for project support.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
* Support and facilitate Manufacturing Process Improvement efforts and plans.
* Introduce and implement SPC techniques and associated measurement and control systems.
* Provide industrial controls and automation engineering services to the manufacturing shop floor
* Assist in the Design, development, PLC and HMI /SCADA programming, instrument specifications, troubleshooting, start-up, documentation, maintenance and support.
* Engineering specifications and drawings, review of engineering documents and factory acceptance
* Develop high-quality, error-free industrial software programs.
* Maintain positive working relationships with all levels of the organization
Education and Qualifications:
* 4-year degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or related Engineering field
* Must have 3-5 years of professional related experience within an industrial environment
* Previous project management experience
* Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus
* Ability to drive change in a demanding atmosphere
* Strong communication and facilitation skills
* Working knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) tools and techniques
* Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously or as a team member
* Strong organizational and writing skills
* Proficient with Excel and basic knowledge of VBA preferable
* Proven experience with Industrial Instrumentation and control implementation with multiple platforms:
* Working knowledge of PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicon, etc.).
* Familiar with HMI/SCADA programming (Factory Talk, Iconics Genesis64, Wonderware, Cimplicity, iFIX, Siemens, etc.).
US Citizenship or Perm Residency is required due to government military contracts
