Pension and benefits Manager

Our Shared Services team works with internal customers to evolve business processes and tools, one good idea after another. In your role, you will:

- Pension and Group Insurance – Administration: Administer all pension and group insurance programs in Canada (except for Corporate Office) – including individual calculations and running annual cycles
- Monitor and control day to day operations: Responsible for providing leadership, resolving customer service issues and engage with customer service team at all levels, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and respecting all SLA: Ensure all customer enquiries are answered and all complaints are solved by monitoring the case management tool; proactively monitor service delivery quality in order to suggest and implement customer service improvement.
- Manage conflicting priorities and get the best result for the end customers.
- Project Implementation: Implement projects: i.e. redesigns, changes in legislation, business reorganizations, restructurings, collective bargaining agreements, process improvements, automation, self-service portals, etc.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance to legislations including filings to governmental entities. Audit Support Provide information to internal and external auditors, answer questions and ensure the information is accurate.
- Collective Bargaining - Agreements Support: Support collective bargaining agreement negotiations in Canada (analysis, benchmark, interaction with external providers, recommendation).
- Support to Bids for Business – Contracts: Support during bid process for business contracts that involve potential changes to pension and benefit plans of employees.
- Vendor Management: With the support of Procurement and Center of Expertise, act as the Vendor Manager with external providers (benefits providers and administrators, pension administrators & providers). Manage external providers’ daily activities: Morneau Shepell, Conduent, WEBS Inc, Industrial Alliance, Blue Cross, etc.
- Cost tracking: Tracking costs of pension and benefits programs Maintain and update pension administration and HR data systems. Leverage cost saving opportunities from other programs or from Industry best practices.
- Improve and optimize pension administration tools
- Participate in various special projects
- Plan, implement and control functional activities in order to achieve the targets including goals set forth for the Achieving Excellence System
- Ensure that all team members understand their role and performance;
- Must be able to provide leadership and coaching to all team members in the department and provide feedback to employees
- Ensure the right resources are available to meet projected workload delivery on quality, cost and schedule
- Maintain an equitable work environment.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate,

- You hold a bachelor degree in Actuarial Mathematics;
- You have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in pension plan administration and management;
- You have experience in project planning and managing;
- You have excellent spoken and written communication skills in French and English (Spanish is an asset);
- You have excellent analytical skills and critical mindset;
- You have strong interpersonal and leadership skills;
- You demonstrate team spirit;
- You are results-oriented;
- You have the ability to work co-operatively with managers and employees of all levels, disciplines and cultures;
- You are creative in problem-solving.
