Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to maintain productive machines through diagnosing, and correcting mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic problems on equipment as well as performing preventative maintenance. Maintain a safe work environment.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Minimum of 5 years as a Maintenance Mechanic/Technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent proven mechanical aptitude.
• 2 - 4 years of experience conducting preventive maintenance on all facility equipment and documenting PM procedures & results.
• Previous manufacturing troubleshooting experience with the ability to make independent judgments and utilize analytical and problem solving skills.
• Basic electrical maintenance & fabricating.
• Previous experience working with mills & lathes & grinders & welders.
• Experience with PLC.
• Organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Knowledge of OSHA & environmental practices & procedures.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to meet physical requirements and serve as a backup for the Maintenance Supervisor.
• High level of safety consciousness to maintain a safe work environment.
• The ability to speak, read and write English.
• Must be able to work the required overtime, when available.
• Positive attitude & good attendance is essential!
• The ability to read a micrometer.
• Forklift license or ability to earn the license.
• Must have the ability to walk, bend, turn, and lift weights of up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Complies with corporate guidelines and legal requirements on business ethics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 5 years as a Maintenance Mechanic/Technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic electrical maintenance & fabricating skills required.
• Previous experience working with mills & lathes & grinders & welders.
• Experience with PLC.
• Proven ability to work independently and displays strong initiative and work ethic.
• Able to operate fork trucks or electric trucks.
• High level of mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional peers.
• The ability to utilize problem solving skills.
