Maintenance Helper HNL Copy

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Perform aircraft push backs from the gate; assist maintenance personnel in moving aircraft to and from gates from hard stand parking.

* Assist maintenance personnel in doing nightly aircraft exterior washes and nightly engine compressor and turbine washes.

* Assist maintenance personnel in doing maintenance and repair of airframe components, powerplants, aircraft communications and navigation equipment and associated components in accordance with Empire’s policies and manufacturer’s manuals.

* Assist maintenance personnel with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

* Serve as a positive role model for ethical behavior and promote an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles that is consistent with these principles; promote and support the mission of Empire Airlines.

* Other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent with valid driver’s license and insurable record through Empire’s policy, required. Must be computer literate with skills and abilities to operate hand and power tools for minor repair work, required. Must be enrolled in an aviation maintenance course, required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in and outdoors and requires travel, primarily by vehicle. Will be exposed to inclement weather and exposed to various noise levels associated with aircraft maintenance facilities. May be exposed to physical hazards and may require climbing, bending, crawling, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling and working in confined spaces. Frequently carries, lifts, pulls or pushes parts and equipment weighing up to and at time beyond 80 pounds. Work is sometimes performed on ladders and/or scaffolds which requires incumbent to work overhead or in a stretched, cramped or awkward position. Requires manual dexterity, speaking, seeing and hearing to conduct business. Work schedule may include nights, weekends and/or holidays.
