Maintenance Group Leader (CNC Machine Maintenance)

Moog
Aircraft Group is looking for a Maintenance Group Leader for our growing
Facilities Department. In this role, you
will responsible for the repair and maintenance of plant machinery and related
equipment with a focus on CNC machines and machine tool controls. You will also coordinate efforts with machine
tool suppliers to insure appropriate installations of new machinery. This position is located at our aerospace
manufacturing plant in Torrance, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

* Purchase parts and
materials to maintain inventories and repair equipment
* Purchase new gauges and
test equipment for diagnosis and repair of machine tools.
* Keep preventative
maintenance machine tool records, lubrication records, oils and coolant
inventory.
* Assure appropriate mixture
and handling of coolant; assure appropriate lubrication of all shop equipment
* Assign and schedule work
for group; set work priorities
* Maintain and
troubleshoot machine tool controls and associated systems
* Install, service,
dismantle, and troubleshoot all types of production machinery (conventional and
CNC) in addition to other facility equipment.
* Identify the issues
causing the breakdown on machines or equipment.
Determine the proper methods required to dismantle and repair defective
or worn out parts, utilizing schematics, diagnostics and manuals.
* Maintain close
coordination with other Maintenance personnel and Production Supervisor related
to Equipment Relocation and Electrical Systems Shutdowns.
* Assist and direct
outside service technicians with in-house service and repair activities
* Work closely, and
communicate well with other related disciplines in the department. Assist others as required.
* Subject to be called
upon for emergencies after normal working hours and on weekends.
* Must have own hand
tools.

Skills/Abilities:

* Strong verbal and
written communication skills to communicate effectively with employees,
supervisors, outside contractors and vendors
* Strong interpersonal and
leadership skills; ability to motivate, lead and train others
* Proficient with
Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Willing and able to work
weekends and after hours as needed for emergencies

Basic (Minimum) Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or
GED (Associates Degree preferred)
* Minimum 5 years of experience
in an industrial maintenance role
* Minimum 4 years of experience
maintaining production machines
* Due to government
contract obligations, must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green Card
Holder)

Preferred
Qualifications Include:

* Associates
(AA or AS) Degree
* Supervisory/leadership
experience strongly preferred
* Experience
maintaining machine tool controls and associated systems
* Ability
to troubleshoot servo drives, spindle drives
* Experience
with machine controls (for example: Fanuc, Siemens, Okuma, Mitsubishi)
* Experience
changing air filters and worn out parts, and realigning machines
* Experience
maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting of manufacturing machines (lathes,
drill presses, grinders)
* Capable
of operating hand tools
* Must
have own hand tools
* Maintenance
mechanic experience in a machine shop environment
* Experience
with Okuma, Studder, Mazak machines
