Maintenance Engineering Intern Summer

Job Description

Summary

Assists Industrial Maintenance department with project management, project planning, locating parts for machine upgrades, tracking machine up-time.

Essential Functions

* Analyzes equipment drawings and spare parts criticality matrix to add new parts and monitor current inventory of critical spare parts.
* Update the critical spares spreadsheet for all equipment.
* Work with Maintenance Clerk to do a complete inventory of all critical spares.
* Create critical spares tracking sheet to monitor when critical items are checked out of store room inventory.
* Inputs operator down-time reports into Excel.
* Own the down-time tracking program at the facility. This will include developing a completely new system to track maintenance down-time on each piece of equipment.
* Analyze down-time sheets on a weekly basis to locate trends.
* Propose machine modifications based on reoccurring system failures to reduce machine down-time.
* Input completed work orders into Mapcon.

Additional Responsibilities

Must understand and follow requirements of SXP QMS and EHS system.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

* Must currently be attending some level of Engineering curriculum at ABET accredited university.
* Ability to work flexible hours as required, including weekends and holidays
* Computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel required.
* SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience preferred.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold and extreme heat. This is a tobacco free work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
