Maintenance Controller

Maintenance Control is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the airline from a Maintenance standpoint. He/she will be responsible for ensuring that Sun Country Airlines’ aircraft are maintained in an airworthy condition, regardless of where they happen to be or whom he/she assigns the task of making necessary repairs. Decisions made by the Maintenance Controller are to be considered as if they originated with the Director Maintenance, Director Quality Assurance/Quality Control, or the Sr. Director A/C Maintenance and Engineering, and are not to be countermanded or overruled by any person unless the three aforementioned division heads or their deputies are in agreement that the Maintenance Control decision is not in the best interest of Sun Country Airlines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: FT, 12 hour shifts, 4 on 4 off, shifts bid on Company seniority.

Reports to: Manager, Maintenance Control

Essential Functions:

* The Maintenance Controller is responsible to maintain Sun Country Airlines’ aircraft to the highest possible standards to assure a safe, economical, and on-time operation.

* The maintenance controller must be aware of the mechanical status of all operating aircraft and the general status and expected availability of all Sun Country Airlines’ aircraft undergoing maintenance. They will also keep SOC apprised of aircraft availability, particularly if an aircraft cannot meet its schedule.

* The Maintenance Controller is responsible to provide a current and continuing follow-up system of deferred repairs to ensure positive corrective action is made on a timely basis.

* To accomplish that task, the Maintenance Controller will coordinate the activities of Materials, contract maintenance agencies and the Sun Country Airlines’ Maintenance Department.

* The Maintenance Controller may be asked to assist in the planning for the development and issuance of the daily RON work packages as directed by the Manager Maintenance Control.

* Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal safety and health regulatory requirements, programmatic standards, and with any internal policies and procedures identified by Sun Country Airlines.

Required Skills

* Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously in a stressful environment.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Foundational understanding of aircraft line maintenance and its impact to the Sun Country Operation.

* Ability to collaborate with inter-departmental personnel in meeting Sun Country objectives

* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

* Ability to process analytical aircraft troubleshooting solutions.

Required Experience

* Must have a valid and in currency Airframe and Powerplant Certificate

* 3-5 years line maintenance experience on the 737NG series aircraft

* 737NG 40 hour familiarization class completion preferred

* Previous supervisory experience preferred

* TRAX experience preferred
