Role Summary:
The primary function of this job is to perform dimensional inspection, using standard mechanical gaging of purchased/fabricated electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies such as, but not limited to, printed wiring boards, machined/formed parts, rubber products, standard hardware items, connectors, and bearings.

Essential Responsibilities:
Perform visual inspection of purchased and internally fabricated material to verify that the material is correct to the purchase order or process and that the parts are the correct color, type, uniformity, revision, and are free of damage. Conduct detailed, in-depth first piece inspections to verify conformance to drawings, process data sheets, drawing notes, etc. Appropriately record inspection acceptances and rejections in a computerized database.

Qualifications/Requirements:
High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school

• Basic mechanical/fabrication knowledge for the inspection of mechanical products such as castings, forgings, machined parts, and sheet metal products.
• Knowledge of and an understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
• Required to successfully complete a pre-employment written test.

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Desired Characteristics:
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to work with engineering, manufacturing, and quality personnel regarding inspection results and to constructively critique workmanship on incoming and internally fabricated products.
• Preference will be given to candidates with prior electrical and mechanical inspection experience
• Able to work under minimum supervision and schedules jobs based on work assignments received
• Keen attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and PDF Viewers
