Join us as a Lead Electrical Architect and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Saint-Bruno.

Based in St Bruno, Quebec, you will be accountable of the power supply functions (line voltage, auxiliary electrical supply, battery supply, diesel and hydraulic supply), traction and power distribution architecture within the product family. You will undertake delegated responsibilities from the Head of vehicle architecture of the product family and from the Lead Platform Electrical Architecture of the CoE EA (Centre of Expertise Electrical Architecture).

You will assure vehicle concept definitions and architectures harmonization, assure the compliance to CoE EA directives (“state of the art”), verify the electrical architecture deliveries, escalate the issues and lessons learned to the head of vehicle architecture of the product family and to CoE EA, ensure that product requirements are cascaded and understood. You will also ensure compliance to PAD (Product Architecture Directive), manage the product priorities, the workload and the budget, feed CoE electrical architectures libraries, inform CoE EA and participate on the CoE EA committee meetings, and escalate of innovations and R&D projects (needs and ongoing) to the CoE EA.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Evaluate current and future needs for product family capacity and capability;
- Escalate issues to pole Pdm (Product Development Manager), head of vehicle architecture or CoE EA;
- Ensure compliance with requirements management directive;
- Ensure compliance to PAD (Product Architecture Directive);
- Manage the product priorities, the workload, the budget and put in place and follow the development plan for electrical architecture;
- Reuse solutions from the CoE EA library;
- Escalate electrical architecture library gaps to CoE EA and update library if approved by CoE EA;
- Incorporate lessons learned in continuous library improvement;
- Capture and understand requirements and ensure consistent application;
- Assure standardization and harmonization within product family;
- Assure solutions quality (in the sense of “state of the art”) and compliance to the requirements;
- Review and approve electrical architecture deliveries of the product family;
- Be responsible for the technical quality of your scope within the product family;
- Capture and understand the product family requirements to govern the convergence;
- Drive within the product family implementation of proven and innovative solutions in line with the Product Management roadmap;
- Establish and maintain performance roadmaps;
- Ensure consistent application and common understanding of standards and legislation throughout the organization;
- Escalate to CoE EA strategic development needs and required R&T activities, in agreement with the Product Engine to secure innovative and competitive products;
- Evaluate the capability of BTBS 4S building blocks suppliers to create and delivery competitive solutions (differentiation and evolution).

Qualifications

Key requirements:

- You hold a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
- You have minimum six (6) years of design experience;
- You own knowledge of vehicule line voltage functions and circuits and vehicule electrical auxiliary functions and circuits;
- You own knowledge of traction performances simulations and comprehensive understanding of power electronics;
- You have excellent English and French communication skills, both written and spoken.
