Responsibilities

As part of the Southwest Airline’s Safety Management System (SMS), Internal Evaluation Program (IEP) Auditors perform evaluations of operational systems, objectives, risks, and controls, by reviewing and analyzing evidence, identifying and documenting; hazards, ineffective controls, nonconformity findings and concerns ensuring the highest levels of operational safety and compliance with SWA policies, procedures and Federal Regulations.

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

* Provides friendly service to and maintains positive relationships with all internal and external Customers
* Works in cooperative spirit to ensure the success of our Company
* Performs duties and functions as outlined in the Safety Management Manual
* Performs Internal Evaluation Program audits per Safety Management Manual
* Conducts In-briefs & Out-briefs with Organizational Leadership
* Conducts and documents observations and interviews
* Identifies and documents nonconformities
* Conducts Operational Systems, IOSA, FAA EP, OSHA, and Special audits
* Input and manage audit data via a computing system
* Assists in the development of Master Audit Criteria
* Complies with directives set forth by Leadership

May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

EDUCATION:

* Required, High School Diploma or GED
* Required, Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Aviation, Auditing, or Safety Management

WORK EXPERIENCE:

* Required, 2 Years in Operational experience in Flight Operations, Dispatch, Inflight, Maintenance, Ground Operations or related area with Part 121 Operations
* Required, 2 Years - experience in research and writing skills for document/report preparation
* Required, 2 Years - knowledge of 14 CFR Part 5 Rule (SMS) Processes, CFRs, OpSpecs, FAA Order 8900.1, OSHA and other regulatory requirements
* Preferred, 2 Years - Evaluation, auditing, and safety experience
* Preferred, 2 Years - Experience working as an IEP Auditor with IOSA auditing

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:

* American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) preferred
* Airframe and Powerplant License preferred
* Private, Commercial, Flight Instructor, or ATP License preferred
* Aircraft Dispatcher License preferred
* Flight Attendant Certificate of Demonstrated Proficiency preferred

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.

* Proficient in Personal computer skills and knowledge of Windows Applications with ability to produce reports (written, charts, graphs)
* Proficient in Analytical, investigative and problem solving skills
* Beginner Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 5 Rule (SMS) processes, airline operations, aviation safety and system safety fundamentals, standards and/or accident investigation process
* Beginner Knowledge of CFRs, OpSpecs and FAA Order 8900.1, OSHA and TSA regulations and guidance
* Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work both independently and as a team player
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
* Experience and working knowledge of operational technology applications
* Experience in working and communicating with multiple organizations concurrently
* Ability to research/understand operational requirements, policies and procedures
* Ability to develop and present data & information
* Ability to work well with others as part of a Team and ability to perform well under pressure
* Ability to work in a cooperative spirit to ensure the success of our Company
* Provides friendly service to and maintains positive relationships with all Internal and External Customers
* Ability to communicate accurately and concisely both orally and written
* Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
* Some extended work hours may be required to meet business needs
* Some travel may be required

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
