Job Description

Job Description: Primary Purpose:

LGS Innovations, a leader in solving the most complex networking and communications challenges, is seeking a Hardware Engineering Technician III for our Westminster, CO location.

Under general direction, will provide skilled technical support to research and development engineers in designing, testing, modifying, fabricating and assembling advanced RF systems. Works independently and/or supports engineers to develop and execute test strategies that verifies board and unit functionality, and validates unit integration and product specifications.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Perform tests, collect data, and participate in the iterative product development process with other technicians, design engineers, or team leaders to achieve customer specifications
Interface with management and design engineers to modify and optimize products to meet design customer requirements
Use output from simulation software to build proof of concept products for designers
Assist development and manufacturing teams troubleshoot potential problems
May be required to find performance outages and make design improvement recommendations
Help prepare procedures and documentation necessary to launch new products to manufacturing

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

Travel to other LGS Locations or Customer Sites as necessary
Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies
Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures
Perform other duties as required
Consistent and reliable attendance required
If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the duties of the position
Work is typically performed in an office environment which requires proper safety precautions. Work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.​
Minimum Qualifications: Skills and Knowledge:​

Experience developing new concept builds, performing tests, and troubleshooting do to component level
Experience soldering board and cable assemblies
Experience executing automated tests and communicating results
Working knowledge of SPC/DOE/FMEA methodologies
Experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework environment
Solid communication skills of technical matters
Working knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required
Ability to work independently as well in a team environment

Minimum Education and Experience:

Associate’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Sciences, and 4 – 6 years of related experience with advanced RF systems, or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience
Preferred Qualifications: N8:N9Additional Desired Skills:​

Working knowledge debugging advance RF systems from 400MHz to 8 GHz using oscilloscopes, RF power meters, network analyzers and spectrum analyzers
Working knowledge of network and spectrum analyzers is desirable as well as knowledge of wireless technologies including mobile communications, wi-fi, broadband wireless, Wimax, etc.
RF/Microwave knowledge and experience with interpreting RF modeling outputs from tools
