Applications are invited from suitably qualified employees for the above position, to be based at Adelaide Airport. These positions are part time located within Jetstar Services P/L.

Reporting to the Ramp Manager, the key responsibilities of this role are:

• Perform activities in all ground crew areas that are directly and indirectly associated with aircraft handling.
• Responsibility for the safe loading and unloading of aircraft in accordance with operating procedures and compliance regulations
• Working in a productive pro-active team environment with Airport Management, Customer Service Officers, Cabin Crew and colleagues to deliver an efficient turnaround at Airports;
• Completion of all aircraft documentation
• Ensuring all applicable operating procedures and requirements are followed
• Various administration and compilation of operational reports and documents using designated systems and equipment
• Operate equipment and vehicles including baggage tugs, mobile steps, belts, disable passenger lift, aerobridges, fork-lift and equipment requiring similar operational skills associated with ramp, cargo, catering, aircraft servicing and general transport operations
• Assist with safety investigations and reporting as directed
• Requirement to work without direct supervision.
• Employees at this level may be required to ‘work down’ as necessary.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• Dangerous Goods Awareness & Safety Training or ability to successfully complete this.
• A current Australian Drivers Licence
• The ability to hold or obtain an Airside Drivers Licence
• Flexibility and be able to commit to working shift work, including early morning starts and late night finishes. These positions will also require you to work weekend shifts and Public Holidays.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and adhere to safe work practices in accordance with OH&S procedures and legislation
• Sound knowledge and understanding of ground handling function
• Demonstrated awareness of Airport Security Procedures and Quarantine Laws or willingness to obtain
• Experience working successfully within a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to liaise with a variety of internal and external contacts and customers
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and coordinate multiple time sensitive issues

You must also be able to pass a full Pre-Employment Medical (including Drug & Alcohol Screen), and have a clear criminal history to be able to acquire your ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card).
